Handle & Care

My ceramic pieces are made out of stoneware clay, a hard and durable material made to last for years to come, if handled properly. I want to encourage my customers, by using the following instructions, to handle the pieces with care, to be able to enjoy my products for as long as possible.
The sculptural pieces should only be washed by hand or wiped with a damp cloth. Using simply a water or a mild detergent is advised, when washed by hand. Strong detergents can damage the glaze and make the surface matte, crackled and leave marks on the surfaces.
Drastic changes in temperature may damage ceramics. Never pour boiling water into any of my ceramic vessels.
Everything that is glazed always have the glaze removed from the surface that touches the shelve in the kiln, otherwise it would get stuck when the glaze melts in the high temperature. This means that some of the products may have a rough surface on the bottom, which may cause scratches. To protect the surfaces, I recommend sticking protecting furniture pads in felt, rubber or cork onto the ceramic object to avoid scratches.
